What is Abyssal Paranormal Research Diving?
Where the Water Remembers
Abyssal Paranormal Diving is a paranormal research group dedicated to investigating unexplained phenomena in, on, and beneath the water. While most paranormal research focuses on abandoned buildings, battlefields, and grave sites, we believe the greatest and least understood mysteries exist below the surface. Lakes, oceans, cenotes, rivers, and flooded ruins do not simply conceal history, they preserve it.
Water does not forget. It holds memory, pressure, silence, and depth in ways land cannot. When tragedy, ritual, or sudden loss occurs near water, those moments are not dispersed, they are suspended. This is where we work.
Why Water Holds the Greatest Paranormal Secrets
Water is a natural amplifier of energy. It absorbs trauma, isolates sound, distorts perception, and creates environments where human senses are compromised. Darkness, pressure, nitrogen narcosis, thermoclines, and silt-out conditions push the human mind into heightened states of awareness—conditions long associated with paranormal encounters.
Many cultures across history have viewed water as sacred, liminal, or dangerous, a boundary between worlds. From rivers believed to guide the dead, to sinkholes used for sacrifice, to seas that never return their victims, water is consistently linked to spirits, memory, and unrest.
Abyssal Paranormal Diving exists at this intersection of science, history, belief, and experience.
Sites We Have Investigated
Angelita Cenote – Mexico
Angelita Cenote is one of the most haunting dive sites in the world. Beneath its surface lies a hydrogen sulfide cloud that creates the illusion of a submerged river—an underwater boundary that feels unmistakably otherworldly. According to Mayan belief, Angelita was named after a young girl murdered nearby centuries ago, her spirit believed to linger within the cenote. The Maya considered cenotes sacred portals to the underworld, places where offerings—and lives—were given to the gods. Many divers report feelings of dread, being watched, or profound emotional shifts while descending through Angelita’s depths.
Lake Lanier – Georgia
Lake Lanier is widely regarded as one of the most haunted bodies of water in the United States. Built over the submerged town of Oscarville, a once-thriving Black community violently erased in the early 1900s, the lake holds homes, roads, bridges, and grave sites beneath its surface. Hundreds of unexplained drownings and accidents have occurred here, often under calm conditions. Divers report disorientation, tugging sensations, and equipment malfunctions in specific areas, particularly near submerged structures.
The Bermuda Triangle
Few locations inspire as much speculation as the Bermuda Triangle. Known for unexplained disappearances of ships and aircraft, this region of the Atlantic has long been associated with magnetic anomalies, time distortion, and loss of navigation. Beneath its waters lie countless wrecks, many never fully documented. Abyssal Paranormal Diving approaches the Triangle not as myth, but as a convergence of environmental extremes, human tragedy, and unresolved questions.
Port Royal – Jamaica
Once known as the “wickedest city on Earth,” Port Royal sank into the sea during a massive earthquake in 1692. Entire streets, taverns, and homes were swallowed almost instantly. Thousands died. Today, much of Port Royal remains preserved underwater, earning it the nickname “the Pompeii of the Caribbean.” Divers frequently report the sensation of movement where none should exist, pressure changes, and an overwhelming emotional weight while navigating the ruins.
Trunk Lagoon - Operation Hailstorm
Beneath its calm, tropical surface lies one of the largest underwater graveyards in the world. During World War II, Operation Hailstone turned this remote lagoon into a mass casualty site almost overnight. Dozens of Japanese warships, submarines, aircraft, tanks, weapons, and supplies were sent to the bottom—often with sailors still inside. Many never escaped. Many were never recovered.
And Many More
From shipwrecks and flooded caves to sacred waters and forgotten harbors, our investigations continue to expand as we follow credible reports, historical records, and firsthand experiences.
Our Next Expedition: The Isle of the Dolls March 2026
Our next research expedition takes us to the Isle of the Dolls (Isla de las Muñecas) in Mexico—one of the most unsettling locations in the world. Said to be haunted by the spirit of a young girl who drowned nearby, the island is covered in decaying dolls hung as offerings and protection. The surrounding canals and waters are central to the legend, making this a critical site for abyssal paranormal investigation.
Paranormal Diving Expeditions & Research Trips
Abyssal Paranormal Diving organizes guided expeditions for qualified paranormal divers (yes, we will train you) who wish to participate in real-world investigations. These trips are designed to balance safety, documentation, and respectful engagement with the sites we explore. Participants are trained to observe, record, and experience—without contamination of evidence or reckless behavior. An opportunity to experience a different type of paranormal!
Paranormal Diving Education & Training
We offer Paranormal Scuba Diving classes designed to teach divers how to safely and responsibly conduct underwater paranormal research. Courses cover environmental awareness, equipment considerations, psychological effects, documentation methods, and ethical investigation standards.

The Blue House – A Paranormal Scuba Diving Novel
Rick Molchan is the author of The Blue House, his first paranormal scuba diving novel. The story blends real-world abyssal diving with psychological and paranormal horror, following a team drawn into a submerged mystery where water becomes both witness and participant. The Blue House explores grief, memory, and the idea that some places—especially underwater—do not release what they take.
